"On the Mall" at Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico
Industrial hub, cultural center, bustling capital of Jalisco state, Guadalajara nestles in the Atemajac Valley of Mexico's western highlands. A popular destination for tourists from throughout Latin America, this "most Mexican of Mexican cities" is often overlooked by US vacationers familiar only with playpen resorts along Mexico's coasts. This stereo view shows the eastern end of Guadalajara's long pedestrian mall. In the background is the city's largest theater, with towering arched ceilings painted by world renowed muralist Jose Orozco.
Camera: Ricoh FF-20 twin rig; auto everything point and shoots synched with twinned electronic cable release. This is one of the rare times when an OK snapshot combines with good twin rig synchronized. I'm not sure how far off level the stereo view is; part of the apparent tilt comes from off-center perspective and the real tilt of some of the water fountains. Trimming and rotating the two halves of the view didn't remove the apparent tilt.
