View-Master reels printed on fabric.

Heather Cudney came across this cool discontinued View-Master® reel fabric."The navy and pink will be an apron and some make-up bags," said Cudney. The cream background will be part of a quilt for my bed. Just have to get my sewing machine tuned up since it's been in storage for awhile."

Sawyer's News Reel Collection in Hardbound Book

Bound copy of Sawyer's News Reel newsltetters

A Sawyer's News Reel 1956 - 1959 special hardcover bound book from the editor-in-chief, sold for $303.38 with 27 bids.

Sawyer's News Reel was a special issue for employees of the View-Master® factory in Portland, Oregon, USA.

Offered here is a unique historical item; a beautiful hardcover bound version of 3 1/2 years of Sawyer's News Reel editions. These bound Sawyer's News Reels belonged to the editor-in-chief of the issue, at least from 1956 to 1959. Maxine Hoenshell is also named in the issues as Managing Editor. This hardback version - now over 60 years old - of the issues of Volume 7, Number 1 through Volume 10, Number 7, was made especially for her and was located in her office in the Oregon factory.

You don't get closer to history than with this unique collector's book. The Sawyer's News Reel issues contain a wealth of information. The years 1956 up to and including 1959 were very interesting, because all kinds of things happened to View-Master® company's explosively and internationally growing market. A factory in Australia, a factory in England, and in Belgium. But also news about directors, innovations in the Oregon factory, factory expansions, employee news, Christmas and other gatherings, and also beautiful new productions that View-Master® was going to release.

A Holy Grail for the real collector. It was the same for the late Harry zur Kleinsmiede, the book comes from his personal collection. In 2011, he obtained this book from editor-in-chief Hoenshell. As a true connoisseur he immediately appreciated its special value.
